SpeakSix legal
Terms of Service
Last updated September 22, 2026
These Terms govern SpeakSix accounts, lesson purchases, bookings, live group classes, learning content, and acceptable use of the Service.
1 Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the SpeakSix website, web application, related mobile applications, live classes, lesson content, and associated services (collectively, the "Service").
SpeakSix is operated by an individual based in the United Arab Emirates. In these Terms, "SpeakSix," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Service. "You" refers to the person using the Service.
By creating an account, purchasing a lesson or lesson credit, booking or joining a class, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use SpeakSix on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2 The SpeakSix Service
SpeakSix is an online English conversation-practice platform. It enables users to create accounts, purchase individual lessons or lesson credits, book available sessions, and participate in live group conversations and related learning activities.
Unless a session description expressly states otherwise, SpeakSix sessions are group conversation-practice sessions, not private tutoring, and may operate without a dedicated teacher or facilitator. Other participants are users of the Service and are not employees, agents, or representatives of SpeakSix.
SpeakSix is a supplementary educational service. It is not a school, university, examination body, immigration adviser, or accredited language-certification provider. The Service does not award academic credit, professional qualifications, immigration credentials, or recognized language certificates unless a specific offering expressly says otherwise.
Learning outcomes vary by user. We do not guarantee fluency, examination results, employment outcomes, admissions, immigration results, or any specific improvement within a particular period.
3 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the current Service. By creating an account or using SpeakSix, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
SpeakSix does not currently permit accounts for children. If we later offer a service for minors, separate age, consent, supervision, and safety requirements will apply.
You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from receiving it or if SpeakSix has previously suspended or terminated your account for a serious or repeated violation, unless we have given written permission to return.
4 Accounts and account security
You may create a SpeakSix account using an email address and a chosen name or display name. Your display name does not need to be your legal name unless we request legal identity information for a specific payment, safety, fraud-prevention, or compliance purpose.
- Provide accurate information that is reasonably necessary to operate your account.
- Keep your email account, authentication links, passwords, devices, and class access codes secure.
- Do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your account or allow another person to impersonate you.
- Notify us promptly at hello@speaksix.com if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless it results from a security failure attributable to SpeakSix. We may require reasonable verification before restoring access or processing a sensitive account request.
5 Purchases payments and lesson credits
SpeakSix currently offers one-time purchases of individual lessons or lesson-credit bundles. SpeakSix does not currently offer automatically renewing subscriptions.
- The price, currency, number of credits, and any applicable taxes or fees are shown before you confirm a purchase.
- Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Their terms and privacy notices may also apply to the payment transaction.
- Your bank or payment provider may charge currency-conversion, international-transaction, or other fees that SpeakSix does not control.
- Lesson credits are a limited contractual right to book eligible SpeakSix sessions. They are not money, stored value, a bank deposit, or a financial instrument and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Credits may not be resold. They may be transferred only through an official transfer feature or an offer that expressly permits transfer.
- Any expiry date or special restriction will be shown at checkout, in the relevant offer, or in your account before it applies.
We may change future prices and packages. A price change will not alter a completed purchase unless required by law or agreed with you.
6 Bookings cancellations and attendance
A class booking is confirmed when it appears in your account or when SpeakSix sends a confirmation. Session times are displayed using the time-zone information available to the Service. You are responsible for confirming the correct local time and joining on time with a compatible device and stable internet connection.
The cancellation or rescheduling deadline shown during booking or in your booking details forms part of these Terms. If you cancel before that deadline, the applicable credit will ordinarily be returned to your SpeakSix balance. A late cancellation or failure to attend may use the credit for that session.
A connection, browser, device, microphone, or network problem on your side does not automatically entitle you to a replacement credit or refund. If a class cannot be delivered because of a verified failure of the SpeakSix platform or its classroom infrastructure, we may restore the affected credit, offer a replacement session, or provide another remedy required by law.
We may reschedule, combine, change, or cancel a session when reasonably necessary because of availability, safety, minimum participation, technical problems, or events outside our reasonable control. If SpeakSix cancels a paid session without providing a reasonable alternative, we will restore the relevant credit or provide another remedy required by applicable law.
7 Refunds and statutory cancellation rights
Except where applicable law requires otherwise or a specific offer states otherwise, purchases are final and non-refundable once a lesson has been attended or the relevant credit has been used. Purchasing a bundle and using part of it does not automatically create a right to a proportional refund for unused credits.
Account deletion, a change of mind after the applicable cancellation period, a late class cancellation, failure to attend, or inability to use the Service because of your equipment or internet connection does not by itself create a refund right.
Nothing in these Terms limits a refund, withdrawal, cancellation, conformity, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are entitled to a statutory withdrawal period and ask us to begin providing a paid service during that period, you may be required to pay for the service already supplied. Where legally permitted, your withdrawal right may end after the service has been fully performed with the acknowledgements or consent required by law.
To request a refund or exercise a statutory cancellation right, email hello@speaksix.com with your account email, transaction details, and reason for the request.
8 Live classes and classroom expectations
SpeakSix classes are interactive group sessions. Other participants may see your display name and, depending on your settings and participation, may hear your voice, read your chat messages, and observe information you choose to share.
SpeakSix does not record live classes as a standard feature. You may not record, photograph, screenshot, transcribe, scrape, rebroadcast, or distribute a class or another participant's personal information without clear authorization from SpeakSix and every person whose information would be captured, except where applicable law expressly permits the activity.
Use reasonable care when sharing information. Do not disclose sensitive, confidential, financial, medical, or identifying information that is unnecessary for the conversation. SpeakSix cannot fully control what another participant may remember or do outside our systems, even when our rules prohibit misuse.
9 Acceptable use and conduct
You must use SpeakSix respectfully and lawfully. You may not:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, shame, or abuse another person.
- Use hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, or violent content or conduct.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation, qualifications, or identity in a way that is deceptive or unsafe.
- Record or redistribute classes or personal information without authorization.
- Solicit money, promote unrelated commercial services, recruit participants, distribute spam, or conduct scams.
- Share account credentials, classroom links, access tokens, or paid content with unauthorized people.
- Upload malware, interfere with the Service, probe security, bypass access controls, automate unauthorized access, or reverse engineer protected parts of the Service except where law expressly permits it.
- Copy, scrape, republish, sell, or create a competing content database from SpeakSix materials or class information.
- Use the Service for unlawful activity or in a way that infringes another person's rights.
We may remove a user from a class, restrict features, investigate conduct, preserve relevant records, or suspend or terminate an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, prevent fraud, or comply with law.
10 User content
"User Content" means content you submit through the Service, such as a display name, profile information, messages, notes, feedback, uploaded material, or classroom contributions. You retain ownership of rights you hold in your User Content.
You grant SpeakSix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license lasts for as long as the content is needed for those purposes, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit User Content and that it does not violate law, these Terms, or another person's privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or other rights.
Private notes are not intentionally shared with other users unless a feature clearly indicates otherwise. Classroom messages or contributions intended for the group may be visible to the participants in that session.
11 SpeakSix content and intellectual property
The Service and its original content, lesson materials, prompts, slides, exercises, software, interface, visual design, logos, trademarks, and other materials are owned by or licensed to SpeakSix and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, SpeakSix grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own learning and conversation practice. This license does not allow commercial use, public performance, redistribution, resale, sublicensing, or creation of a competing service or content library.
No ownership right is transferred to you. SpeakSix and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.
12 Feedback
If you send ideas, suggestions, or feedback about SpeakSix, you allow us to use, adapt, and implement that feedback without restriction or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of unrelated User Content or personal information, which remains governed by Section 10 and the Privacy Policy.
13 Referrals promotions and free credits
SpeakSix may offer referral programs, promotional prices, free lessons, discount codes, trials, contests, or other limited offers. Additional rules displayed with an offer form part of these Terms.
Promotional benefits may be limited by user, account, household, payment method, campaign, country, or time period. They have no cash value and may not be sold or combined unless the offer says otherwise.
We may withhold or reverse a promotional benefit when we reasonably determine that it resulted from duplicate accounts, self-referral, misleading promotion, payment fraud, automation, or other abuse.
14 Third party services
SpeakSix relies on third-party services, including payment processing, database and authentication infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and live audio technology. Your use of a third-party feature may also be governed by that provider's terms and privacy notice.
We are not responsible for an independent third party's acts, content, policies, or systems. However, this section does not remove any responsibility that applicable consumer law places on SpeakSix for delivering the Service you purchased.
15 Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains how SpeakSix handles personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that policy.
We may send transactional communications needed to operate the Service, including authentication messages, booking confirmations, class reminders, payment receipts, security notices, and important service updates. You cannot opt out of messages that are reasonably necessary to provide or secure your account while it remains active.
Optional marketing communications are handled separately and may be unsubscribed from as described in the message or the Privacy Policy.
16 Suspension termination and account deletion
You may stop using SpeakSix at any time and may request account deletion by emailing hello@speaksix.com or using an account-deletion feature if available.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when we reasonably believe that you have materially or repeatedly violated these Terms, created a safety or security risk, engaged in fraud or unlawful activity, failed to pay an amount properly due, or exposed SpeakSix or others to legal liability. Where appropriate, we may give notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.
We may discontinue the Service or a material feature. When reasonably practicable, we will give notice. If discontinuation prevents use of paid, unexpired credits, we will offer a reasonable replacement, restore value through another available feature, or provide a refund where required by law.
Termination or account deletion does not automatically create a refund right. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective, including provisions concerning payments, intellectual property, user content already lawfully used, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and general terms.
17 Service availability and changes
We work to keep SpeakSix available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security events, third-party outages, internet conditions, capacity limits, or events outside our reasonable control may affect availability.
We may improve, replace, limit, or remove features and may update schedules, class formats, supported devices, and technical requirements. We will not knowingly remove a paid entitlement without providing a reasonable alternative or any remedy required by law.
Features identified as beta, preview, experimental, or test features may change or stop without notice and may be less reliable than general-release features.
18 Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." SpeakSix disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation, except to the extent that such warranties cannot lawfully be excluded.
SpeakSix does not endorse or guarantee statements, advice, qualifications, conduct, or information provided by another user. You are responsible for deciding what information to share and whether to rely on a participant's statement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes an express commitment made at checkout or in a specific paid offer, or a statutory guarantee or consumer remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
19 Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law prohibits such a limitation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakSix will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, or data, arising from or related to the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakSix's total aggregate liability arising from or related to the Service and these Terms will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid to SpeakSix during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory of liability and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, but only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
20 Responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims, or reasonable costs arising directly from your unlawful use of the Service, infringement of another person's rights, unauthorized recording or distribution of a class, fraud, or material breach of these Terms. This provision does not require a consumer to compensate SpeakSix for losses caused by SpeakSix or for matters for which liability cannot lawfully be imposed on the consumer.
21 Governing law disputes and consumer rights
Before starting formal proceedings, you and SpeakSix agree to make a reasonable effort to resolve a dispute informally. Send a written description of the issue and the requested resolution to hello@speaksix.com. We will review it and try to respond within a reasonable period.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere, the courts with jurisdiction over the SpeakSix operator in the United Arab Emirates will have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, you retain the mandatory rights and protections provided by the law of your country of residence where those rights cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms limits such rights.
22 General terms and contact information
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our business, or legal requirements. We will post the revised Terms and update the "Last updated" date. If a material change adversely affects existing paid rights, we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where law requires a different form of consent.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. SpeakSix may assign these Terms as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service, provided that doing so does not reduce mandatory consumer rights.
Entire agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, any offer-specific rules, and any other policy expressly incorporated by reference form the agreement between you and SpeakSix concerning the Service. They replace prior discussions or statements about the same subject, but do not exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or override an express checkout commitment.
Severability and waiver
If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted or modified only as necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
Language
Translations may be provided for convenience. To the extent permitted by law, the English version controls if a translation conflicts with it.
